Have you won second prize in a beauty contest? Have you taken a ride on the Reading Railroad? You have if you’ve grown up playing Monopoly, one of the most popular board games in history.
Bally’s Atlantic City recently began a “Pass Go! Collect $200!” promotion, so to attract more players, a big Monopoly board replica was built just outside the casino.
“You hear all your life about how Monopoly is based on Atlantic City and you play the game all your life, and now we’re actually here, on the real Boardwalk!” said Shirley Theal, a tourist from Niagara Falls, Canada.
Don Marrandino, eastern division president of Caesars Entertainment, said the Boardwalk has been busier since they added the game board earlier this month. “We’re getting a great customer response to it,” he said.
The tourist attraction will remain outside of Bally’s entrance at least until the end of the promotion which is December 2nd.
